Seafarers are on a hunger strike to save Seafarers from Kolkata and Eastern India to continue their struggle. Seafarers are asking for their legitimate right of employment which they were getting since the year 1962. The SCI management with a unilateral decision stopped their employment opportunity from 1/02/2019. The workers are doing their struggle for the past eighteen days. Yet SCI management continues to push on its exploiting decision to shift its crew selection from Kolkata to Mumbai.
The Forward Seamen’s Union of India will continue this struggle until the aggrieved seafarers get justice.
