Forward seamen’s union of India initiated a mass DHADAK MORCHA AGITATION at SHIPPING CORPORATION OF INDIA under the leadership of Gen. Secretary Com. Naresh Birwadkar for the rights of SCI SHORE EMPLOYEES AND SEAMEN WORKING WITH SCI following are the main demand of agitation
1. Implement Supreme Court’s order of “EQUAL PAY EQUAL WORK” for SCI SHORE EMPLOYEES.
2. Immediate implementation of Supreme Court’s order to PERMANENTLY EMPLOY the employees who are currently working on contract basis for past 20 to 25 years.
3. Immediate implementation of ILO/ MLC 2006 which is Gazetted in India on 29 February 2016 for seamen working in SCI in wages part with MINIMUM BASIC WAGES at US $ 614 (Rs. 41,500/-).
4. Employment of seamen in SCI on the basis of ROASTER SYSTEM so that there will be job guarantee for all the seamen who are working with SCI.
